Household Chore List

 The below chore list is an example of domestic work expected from a slave. 

Chores are organized as daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly tasks.

Daily Chores:

·        Make the beds. 

·        Wash the dishes.

·        Check plants, water if needed.   

·        Do the laundry:

o   Monday: Clothing

o   Tuesday:

o   Wednesday: Towels

o   Thursday:

o   Friday:

o   Saturday: Bedsheets & pillowcases

o   Sunday:

Weekly tasks are grouped by area.

·        Monday: No additional chores beyond daily chores.

 

·        Tuesday: Living Room

o   Declutter by removing anything that doesn't belong in the living room.

o   Dust from top to bottom with damp microfiber cloths, including picture frames, shelves, and furniture.

o   Vacuum or sweep the floor.

o   Clean the windows and window treatments like blinds.

o   Remove any loose cushions and vacuum them and the area beneath the cushions.

o   Wipe the TV and other electronics with a clean, damp microfiber cloth.

o   Use rubbing alcohol and a paper towel to disinfect remotes, game controllers, and similar small electronics.

 

·        Wednesday: Bathroom

o   Remove bath rugs, trashcans, and anything in the tub or shower.

o   Remove the shower curtain and hand wash in the tub.

o   Use an all-purpose cleaner to spray down the shower walls, doors, and tub, then scrub them with a nylon scrubbing pad.

o   Apply grout cleaner to the grout and let it sit for 20 minutes.

o   Rinse the shower walls and tub.

o   Use an all-purpose cleaner to clean the vanity, sink, and faucet, then rinse.

o   Wipe down the mirror with a cloth and glass cleaner.

o   Mop the floor with hot water and an all-purpose cleaner, and rinse off the residue.

 

·        Thursday: Dining room & Kitchen

o   Dust from the top down using a microfiber cloth, starting with the light fixture or ceiling fan.

o   Clean the windows and blinds.

o   Remove everything from the dining table and wipe it down with a damp microfiber cloth.

o   Wipe down the legs or pedestals of the table.

o   Damp-wipe the dining chairs from top to bottom, including between slats and other tight spots.

o   Vacuum or sweep the floor.

 

o   Remove debris from the countertops and wash them with a damp microfiber cloth and an all-purpose cleaner.

o   Rinse the cloth well and wipe down the exterior and interior of cabinet doors and the cabinet pulls.

o   Clean the exterior of the kitchen appliances, including the stovetop.

o   Run a hot water cycle on the dishwasher with a cup of baking soda to freshen it.

o   Scrub the inside and outside of the microwave and other small appliances.

o   Clean the kitchen sink and pour baking soda down the drain to control odors.

o   Sweep and mop the floors, working from the far corner to the entryway.

o   Take trash out to street for pickup.

 

·        Friday: Monthly, Quarterly, & Yearly Chores

o   Retrieve trash from street after pickup.

o   Monthly:

§  First week: Clean dishwasher

§  Second week: Clean laundry machines

§  Third week: Dust light fixtures

§  Fourth week: Clean vacuum

o   Quarterly, first week on each month:

§  First Month:

·        Clean fridge & freezer

·        Clean oven & range

§  Second Month:

·        Wash pillows and comforters

§  Third Month:

·        Wash car(s)

o   Yearly, second week of first quarter:

§  First Quarter:

·        Clean around dryer and vents

§  Second Quarter:

·        Deep clean carpet and upholstery

§  Third Quarter:

·        Clear out gutters

§  Fourth Quarter:

·        Clean drapes & curtains

 

·        Saturday: Bedrooms

o   Pick up any clothing or other clutter from the floor.

o   Strip the bed and sprinkle baking soda on the mattress, then vacuum and put on fresh bedding.

o   Dust the tops of windows and doors, then work your way down, dusting all surfaces.

o   Clean the windows with glass cleaner.

o   Vacuum or sweep the bedroom floor.

 

·        Sunday: Yard

o   Pickup yard debris

o   Weed flower beds and yard

o   Mow lawn, if needed
